When i was using the reference fill, i did the same as you did which was putting the new layer under the reference layer but the color is not showing unless i turn off the reference layer, is that normal?

I know I'm repeating what many others have said here, but this was incredibly concise and effective communication. It wasn't confusing, it was very thorough (including the use cases and the advice about non-destructive work was very helpful), and overall it made this very easy to understand and motivated me to experiment with masks. How the hell do you keep colors vibrant while since clipping mask. Everytime I use it, it lightens the colors and it irritates my soul

curious why you mentioned that multiply doesn’t add saturation to the shadows? of course it didn’t you used black lol you’ve gotta use an actual colour this method just added extra steps
